I'm collecting stories of survivors that I know of Storm Sendong. ""Woke up at 1 am, after a couple of minutes water was waist deep, then it rose up to my neck, mom had to rip off our house's alcuba, then I had to carry my brother , then my 80 year-old grandma, then mom up. We stayed there for an hour, but then the water rose up, so I had to destroy a part of our roof, me and mom kicked at it til it opened, we bent it so we could have a make-shift shelter, and so we stayed there 'til 3 am, by 6, I swan dived just to get in our room, threw furniture around to make way, then I opened the door, helped the neighbors move out their stuff, then James Dominic Quimpo and his parents came by our house and picked us up :))) Just hours after the incident, me and Jay were at DSWD repackaging goods to help other victims ♥ so yeah, I'm kind of cooler than Super Man now >:) We kicked Sendong's ass >:)) good riddance pal :) have a merry christmas ♥" Rafael Francesco Gonzales, son of my friend Josel Gonzales. "my son, Raphael Christian was tired of hearing news and stories about the recent tragedy , what he did he open my FB account and reminisce on family get-away, at least he finds pleasure looking at it. He knows that our old pictures/albums were flooded...camera were flooded.thanks for FB photos.. memories still lives :)" Glenpags Devera

Click to set custom HTML If you wanna come to Cambodia, do it in December. The tourists are few, the weather is cool, and the food is a pleasure to the eyes and taste buds. It has been cloudy so it's good to go to the beach with little or no sun protection. The sun sets early, too, a scene to behold. He is probably the greatest harmonica player ever known. Comment from Ferdinan Morillo: I really like this video...in fact I was teary eyed watching it. However, I'm not sure I understand how could someone afford to sacrifice almost 10 years not to see their families and wait for Coke to provide one. Does this mean, these people will not go see their families for more than that period without the dole out? Coke captured the hearts of the viewers through sentimentalism but they forgot to bring out the message that if somebody wants to see their families, it can be done without the dole out - a Filipino trait that is common nowadays which tends to encourage people to trust on miracles to help improve their lives. Why would Willing WIllie (is this the spelling?), a TV program in the Philippines have a follower like that? I praise Coke for this effort but next time, I would like to see a video which encourages people to be self-sufficient ...... of course, while drinking Coke :-) I myself don't mind drinking Coke :-) |
